Day 70 In the NICU

Today has been one of those rough days.

I am having a lot of problems with reflux. They have added Zantac back into my list of meds.

They have upped my Prevacid dose.

I have been fussing most of the day.

On a good note Stacie came to visit me today.

And Kristie was my wonderful nurse today.

I weigh 2090 grams 4 lbs 9 oz

I hate having reflux. Can you tell?

Day 69 In the NICU

Mom came this morning and fed me, I ate very good for her today.

My diaper rash is gone :) I am still on .5 liters of oxygen.

I am moving today. They are moving me to a private room.

I wonder if I was too loud for my roommate?

I weigh 2100 grams 4 lbs 10 oz

Day 68 In the NICU

My mom came to visit late today my sisters had some things going on at school today.
I have been trying to eat more through my mouth instead of my nose, but I get worn out easy.
I ate good with Mom today, I wish she could be here all the time.
I weigh  2040 grams 4 lbs 8 oz

Day 67 In the NICU

I had a wonderful day today. Stacey was my nurse and she gave me a very nice bath.

They stopped using the diaper cream ointment on my bum because it feels a lot better today.

Mom came and fed me this morning I was sleepy so I only ate a little.

I weigh 1960 grams 4 lbs 5 oz

Day 66 In the NICU

I had a care conference today and they even let me sit in and listen.

They went over all my issues and discussed what still needs to happen before I can go home.

One thing I need to do is eat with my mouth more..... I might be here a while.

Mom tried to feed me at 11:00 am I was out cold. They let me eat through my nose:)

Maybe tonight when she comes I will be all rested up and can eat a little better for her.

Stacey put me in this very cute ghost onsie. And I learned how to get out of wearing "cute" clothes all I have to do is pee on them and they change me right away. That is almost as fun as getting new binky's all I do is through them on the floor and I get a new one. I wonder if life will be this good when I get home.

Day 65 In the NICU

Today has been wonderful. Stacey is my nurse and Mom came to see me.

Mom is back to feeding me twice a day and Stacey is going to start letting me eat with the bottle again.

They have stopped my Zantc, and eye ointment today. They are also giving me more Iron because I am getting bigger.

I am up to 36mL of milk with each meal.

I weigh 1940 grams 4 lbs 4 oz

Day 64.5 In the NICU

Mom, Dad and Savannah came to see me tonight, I was so happy.

Savannah took some pictures of my room and me while she was here.

Mom also got a great picture of Savannah holding me.

Day 64 In the NICU

Today was a busy day and it's not over yet. Mom came to see me and she started breast feeding again.

I got a new crib bed last night.

Stacey was my nurse and she gave me the last of my 2 month immunizations.

I got a bath today, I smell all nice and clean. Hopefully it will help this diaper rash. I was also put under the lights to help with the rash (pictures below)

Mom brought my Halloween costume for me to try on and it looks great.

Day 63 In the NICU

Today has been full of change.

They started giving me Prevacid and Zantac for my acid reflux.

They are giving me Mylicon gas drops to help me with all the gas I have been having. They also said that when they turn down my oxygen it should help with the gas issues.

My oxygen is down to .5 liters

I get my two month immunizations today :(

I have a very bad diaper rash. They have been keeping zinc oxide on it but it is still sore.

My roommate Lola just got a big girl bed. It makes our room look so big and open.

I feel very puffy today I am not sure if this is from one of the changes they made today or something else.

I weigh 1905 grams 4 lbs 3 oz

Day 62 In the NICU

I had a great day today.

They moved my oxygen down to 2 liters and I got one of my primary nurses as my nurse today.

I am still not back to myself yet. They think it might be my hernia that is making me so grumpy.

Mom came to see me at my 11:00 am feeding she held me while the pumped food through nose tube.
I am two months old today. Time to get immunized.

Day 61 In the NICU

Today was wonderful. Natalie was my nurse and Stacey came to visit.

I have a new big boy bed. It's actually the same one I had before and I am back in it!

My mom said my sisters are waiting for me to come home. (They keep watching for me out the window)

I am still on 5 liters of oxygen and I am still not breast feeding but I am doing better.

I weigh 1801 grams 3 lbs 15 oz

Day 60 In the NICU

I am having a rough day again I just can't seem to get comfortable.
I had an eye exam yesterday they said my eyes are still not mature and I have stage 1 ROP (Retinopathy of Prematurity). The Dr will check my eyes again in two weeks. I can't go home until my eyes are mature.

I am on 4 liters of oxygen now.

I have been sleeping a lot and they are still giving me Tylenol.

I weigh 1730 grams 3lbs 13oz (Yes, that is less than yesterday)

Day 59 In the NICU

Good news my PDA has closed on it's own. That means no heart surgery.

I have been acting fussy and sick so they have been running a bunch of tests to see if they can figure out why. 

They gave me Tylenol and Albuterol today to help me feel better.

My Mom, Dad and aunt Joann all came to visit today.

I weigh 1810 grams 4 lbs

Day 58 In the NICU

I am still struggling a bit so they have decided to do a few tests. They are doing an ecocardiogram, a culture and some blood work to see if they can find what is preventing me from doing better.

Stacey was my nurse today. She is great.

I was put on a head box yesterday because my nose was sore and I needed more moisture. It's very nice.
